April is winding down and many of you will soon be returning to work. Others will be hunkering down for another month at home. Whichever camp you are in, now is the time to double down on your organizing efforts. This pandemic is teaching all of us a lesson we need to not just learn, but truly absorb. Your environment matters!
If your home is disorganized, getting through a pandemic is not easy. Your physical environment reflects your inner state of being. If your environment is chaotic, it causes stress and anxiety. Not only does stress negatively impact your mental health, it is the enemy of your immune system. Stress raises cortisol levels, which can wreak havoc on your health. There is no time like the present to address the chaos in your home!
If you have been struggling, please know that change IS possible. Your home can actually be your oasis! Yesterday I received an email from a client I worked with over a year ago. She said:
I hope this finds you and your family well during these crazy times. I just wanted to thank you for the organizing work you did over a year ago for me. It has been some time now and words cannot express how it has changed our lives.
My office has never stayed organized, and now nothing ever looks out of place because it has been so easy to maintain. The pantry is incredible. With everything labeled and having a proper space we always know exactly what we have and what we need. It has sparked us all to get our things organized. My home and farm look amazing thanks to all your help and the different techniques you taught me. Especially now, with both my kids having to be home for college, my husband being home for work, and two additional house guests being quarantined at our home, everything just flows. It is just unbelievable! I can’t thank you enough!

Having your environment organized simply makes life easier. By keeping only what you use and love, you are surrounding yourself with things that bring you joy. When you take the time to slow down and organize those items with intention, you will create systems that will withstand the test of time, AND a pandemic!
